SmashDown: Double or Nothing took place in Rennes, France over the weekend of January 9th and 10th. The Super Smash Brothers Ultimate bracket at the event had 150 entrants and a prize pool of €1,150, with a number of UK players travelling out to the event and achieving high placements.

Luugi, currently ranked #1 in the UK, would be the one to win the entire tournament from the Winner’s side of the bracket taking down Mexican player MKBigBoss and Glutonny twice – only dropping 4 games the entire tournament. Luugi was not the only UK player to make a deep bracket run however.

Shaneak who is currently ranked #2 in the UK placed in at 4th defeating fellow UK player Kendrick Olimar as well as French players PeW and Pharaoh. Shaneak would only lose to MKBigBoss and Gluttony.

The next highest placing player was the currently fourth ranked player in the UK – Kendrick Olimar – who only lost to Shaneak and Glutonny, defeating Raarchyor and RyuKai on his way to 5th place. The next two UK players both finished in 13th being Haruhi and Mondi.

SmashDown: Double or Nothing also had tournaments for Street Fighter 6 won by tooru, 2XKO won by Wade and Melee won by Yruama.
